As part of the project, an exciting Train-the-Trainers event took place in Zaragoza on June 11th and 12th, hosted by Viaje a la Sostenibilidad. During this training, educators from Spain, Finland, Italy, Austria and Serbia tested the practical activities included in the Toolkit that was developed in the previous months.
While the educators got to know each other better within the group and tested the Toolkit, the project coordinators met to discuss the future steps of the project. The meeting was crucial to plan the next steps and ensure that all partner organizations were aligned.
Each partner organization was represented by two educators, who will later conduct outdoor activities with refugee or migrant women. In the next months, educators and refugee/migrant women will identify 3 different routes in every country. These routes will be shared online so others can enjoy these specifically inclusive outdoor activities. This practical application of the Toolkit is an essential component of the project, allowing the content to be tested and further developed in real-life situations.
In addition to the intensive work on the Toolkit, we also discussed theoretical aspects of working with refugee and migrant women. Emphasis was placed on the sensitive handling of various issues in the area of outdoor activities. Sharing experiences and best practices was also a focus, enabling us to learn from each other and improve the project further.
We took the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Zaragoza and taste Spanish food and enjoyed the culinary highlights of the region. The shared experiences and laughter made the event an unforgettable experience and strengthened the team spirit.
This event was an important step in the implementation of our project and demonstrated the value of collaboration and exchange between the partner organizations. We look forward to the next steps and to applying the insights gained in practice.
