VALS kicked off the Out4In training course in late February with an interactive “getting to know each other” session, where participants shared their experiences and reflections through a series of dynamic activities. In the second session, we deepened our connection with nature by making Fukuoka seed balls and scattering them along the riverside during a mindful walk.

One of the highlights so far has been a guided tour of the Galachos de Juslibol, where we learned about the unique flora and fauna of this natural reserve. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we also engaged in a hands-on workshop on making soap from used oil, promoting waste reduction and a better understanding of water management. We also had the opportunity to visit the Aljafería Fortress, where we explored its rich historical and cultural heritage, connecting our reflections on nature with the architectural and historical transformations of Zaragoza.

Throughout the program, we have been integrating various activities from the Out4In toolkit, which has provided valuable methodologies to enhance our outdoor learning experiences. Now, we are looking forward to our final activities: a trip to Huesca, where we will continue discovering the region’s natural landscapes, and the mapping of routes, an exercise that will allow us to consolidate everything we have learned by designing meaningful outdoor itineraries.

Stay tuned for more updates as we conclude this enriching journey!
