In April, Fairplay together with IEC Austria, conducted a series of city hikes as part of the EU project OUTdoor for INclusion, which focuses on Vienna’s natural and cultural heritage. The aim is to include migrant women* through shared outdoor experiences. The first date took place on March 30 and had the topic “Water in Vienna”.

During a special tour of the Wien Museum, the No. 1 port of call for city history, participants were introduced to the history of the city’s water supply, the natural heritage of the Danube and the creation of the Danube Island.

As part of the tour, trainers from fairplay and IEC Austria provided a playful way of imparting knowledge.

After lunch together, during which the participants from Ukraine, South Korea, Turkey and the Philippines got to know each other better, a city hike on the Danube Island was planned to take a closer look at the local flora and fauna. Unfortunately, due to bad weather conditions, the program remained indoor-based. Nevertheless, a good basis for future joint activities was established.

Further city walks with different thematic focuses will take place in April, hopefully with better weather. We are ready for spring!
